News Ticker: Michael Jackson, Thom Yorke, Pitchfork Festival, Johnny Cash

Michael Jackson’s tour rehearsal documentary This Is It sold 1.2 million copies in its first week, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Twenty-one percent of the title’s sales came from Blu-ray discs.
Thom Yorke will make an appearance on the next Flying Lotus album, Pitchfork reports. Cosmogramma is due May 4th.
Pavement, Modest Mouse and LCD Soundsystem will play the Pitchfork Music Festival, which goes down July 16–18th at Chicago’s Union Park. St. Vincent, Raekwon, Cass McCombs, Here We Go Magic and Lightning Bolt have also been confirmed for the fest.
Johnny Cash fans are encouraged to wear all black in honor of the Man in Black on Friday, January 26th, to mark what would have been his 78th birthday and the release of his final album, American VI: Ain’t No Grave. Fans can post photos of themselves in black to a special Facebook group to enter to win the Unearthed box set.
