Last week I posted a blog entry to generate discussions about how you work at Developing Post Ideas for Your WordPress Site. The response by everyone was tremendous – 33 comments and quite a few great ideas.
It seemed that the most popular way to keep track of ideas for blog entries is by using the built in draft functionality of WordPress. You can do this via the Admin Post writing interface or even via offline tools such as Windows Live Writer. A quick title and a few words, lines about what you want to write about and then save it as a draft. That draft will happily sit there waiting for you to come back to it when your ready or when you have more info to write down towards the idea/post. Once you get the post where you want it and feel the inspiration to complete it then it […]

Don’t you find it frustrating to browse Flash sites because you can’t use the browser’s back/forward button or send your friend to a certain section? The solution to this problem would be SWFaddress — a small Javascript library that lets you create virtual URLs for Flash and Ajax. SWFaddress has been around since 2006, and surprisingly not all Flash sites are utilizing this tool. In this post, I’ve collected 20 sites (Flash and Ajax) that are using SWFaddress. (more…)

Jeff and I have been having some interesting discussions surrounding the WordPress Codex and WordPress documentation. In case you were not aware, there is some fantastic volunteering work going on in WordPress documentation. We would like to see more people involved in the use of and help with the Codex and have some ideas up our sleeves towards that end. However, I think we also need to know what we are dealing with and would like some input from our readers.
I see two different audiences of the Codex and thus the two separate polls. Comments are also appreciated. Let us know if you want to help with the Codex or if you would like to help with WordPress documentation.

WordPress has a huge community with a active user base contributing in the form of excellent plugins, however most of the plugins are scattered all over the internet making it more and more difficult for users to find them and also for plugin authors to send out updates whenever there are any.
However to solve the problem there is WordPress Extend, a place where plugin developers can add their plugins, making it easier for others to find them.
It would be really good if more and more developers started using WordPress Extend to distribute their plugins, I would like to discuss a few benefits developers get when they add their plugins to WordPress extend to make that decision easier.
Hint: If you are unaware of how to add your plugin to WordPress Extend, read our earlier tutorials.
