WordPress Personas For Firefox

What WordPress is to Blogging, Firefox is to browsing, so what happens when we can get both of them to get together? WordPress personas for Firefox
WordPress has released a new set of Personas for Firefox themed around, well WordPress, which you can install and use on the browser. The personas were designed by Chad Pugh and are based on Vintage Press and Inkwell.

Interested? You will find the two personas for Firefox at this link. However, you will need to install the Personas add-on before you will be able to use these as your themes.
Personas are similar to skins, which Firefox users can add to the browser. They are somewhat similar to Firefox themes, however they can be installed quickly and easily and do not provide as much sophistication like regular themes.     First on the list is a large collection of WordPress video tutorials, tips and tricks ranging from the very basic to the very advanced from SpeckyBoy. This list also includes our very own Weblog Tools Videos which lists various WordPress and blogging videos, tips, tutorials and reviews.
    Noupe has listed 11 new “Most Wanted” hacks for WordPress in a nice illustrated list. The new hacks include protecting your pictures from hotlinking and Custom Google Search for WordPress.
    WPMU has received 37 nominations for their WordPress MU awards for 2008 and are looking for people to help choose the winners. View the nominations and vote for them.
    Michael Kubler has written up a tutorial to make WordPress captioned images work as expected on your WordPress theme. Captioned images were introduced in WordPress 2.6 (I believe). This blog had the same problem till we managed to wrangle the extra CSS code for it to work.

      Add WP Search Engines To FF

      Jeremy Clarke mentioned to me about a way to search the Codex, WordPress support area and the plugin respository all from within FireFox. If you support users as I do in the WordPress IRC chat room, there are a lot of times where I do a search on the Codex to look up the page for a certain function that someone is inquiring about. Thanks to Jeremy’s tip, I no longer have to visit the actual page to perform a search.
      If you visit the MyCroft page on Mozdev.org you’ll notice a number of links that you can click on. Each one of these links are a search engine plugin that was coded for FireFox. What this means is that, you can add WordPress specific search engines to the search engine toolbar within FireFox which is usually occupied by Google by default.
