    Best Of WLTC 2010 – Part 1

Posted by admin in WordPress, WLTC Comm... | 12.31.2010 - 4:00 am

In terms of WordPress stuff, WeblogToolsCollection.com publishes a large amount of content over the course of a year. In this two part series, I’ll be highlighting some of the best content that will not only give you a glimpse of the progress made regarding WordPress but also remind you of some of the more important stories that took place during the year.
For me personally, 2010 has been a really tough year both financially and personally. Not only did I lose my future father father-in-law to prostate cancer, but my little endeavor to create a WordPress centric community site that helped me to pay the bills flopped. I’m hoping 2011 is much better than 2010 and for those of you that celebrate it, Happy New Years!.

      WordPress and Forums

Posted by admin in WordPress, WLTC Comm... | 08.15.2010 - 12:41 am

There are a myriad of reasons why people create websites and put them online.  Some do it for fame and profit; others do it for passion and service.
No matter the reason you put your work and effort into an online endeavor there can come a time in the life of some websites that the comment system becomes inconvenient for discussions.
Now WordPress has done a lot to make it easier to follow along with discussions on a site based on that system.  The threaded comments option allows replies to be underneath the original comment that prompted the reply.  Even before it became an option in WordPress plugin developers were making it happen.
So when you want to take those discussions to their own piece of your website and create a forum what should you do?
Well there are quite a few options out there for forums and discussion boards.  Some have been […]

Free Weblog Tools Collection Laptop Sticker

Posted by admin in WordPress, WLTC Comm... | 08.29.2009 - 3:57 am

So I was decking out my laptop with stickers the other day and realized that I really miss having a Weblog Tools Collection laptop sticker.

        Weblog Tools Collection Laptop Sticker

So I got in touch with a few vendors and come upon Sticker Giant who were great to work with. Now that I have a sticker for my own laptop, I have many others left on the roll and I am itching to give them away. So if you want a Weblog Tools Collection laptop sticker for free, please fill out the form and we will send a few out for you ASAP.
Since postage is kind of expensive, if you missed this round and would still like one, we will have more of these sticker giveaways in the future and if I play my cards right, I might even have a way for people to order them online for very little money. […]

What is going on with WordPress Plugin Competition 2009?

Posted by admin in WordPress, WLTC Comm... | 06.23.2009 - 10:42 am

Short answer? It is jumpin! Have you checked out the Plugin Competition Blog recently? There are six new plugins announced for the competition and all of them look fantastic. The comments have been very positive and visitors have been actively rating the entries as they come in. Here is what we have so far:

Tweetable: Another Twitter integration plugin for WordPress (we really need to consolidate these, but there is feature differentiation)
Live Blogging Plugin: Setup a live blog within minutes, needs Meteor
ImageShack Offloader: Move your image hosting to ImageShack
Max Image Size Control: Finer granular control of image sizes in WordPress
WP Devel: Add a whole bunch of debug options to your WordPress blog
WP Update Message: Tweak and refine the update messages in your WordPress admin panel

In addition to these plugins, I know of at least 10 others that are being developed for the competition and I am hoping for many more. A […]
